Colca Canyon tour full day + Transfer to Puno:

We will pick you up at your hotel between 02:30 to 03:00 to start the trip directly to Chivay (3 hours). We will go directly to the Condor’s Cross (5 hours), only stopping in Chivay to have breakfast. Then we leave towards the Cruz del Condor where you will appreciate the depth of the Colca Canyon and the flight of the Condors. On the way back we will observe archaeological remains, pre-Inca agricultural terraces and other panoramic views of the Colca Canyon.

We will pass through the twon of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque in the latter we will make a stop to observe its typical churches, its handicraft center, the typical clothing of its inhabitants. At 11:30 am. already in Chivay we have the option to go to the hot springs, it contains thermal medicinal water that overpasses 40°C. (Bring bathing clothes or buy them on site).

We will meet at 12:30pm. for lunch and continue the trip to Puno, visiting the highest point of the journey Patapampa (4910 masl) or also known as the Mirador de los Volcanes from there you can see the volcanic chain mainly: Hualcahualca, Sabancalla and Ampato.

We will also pass through Pampa de Arrieros and Pampa Cañahuas (National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas) observing the incomparable South American camelids the vicuñas, this animal is part of the national symbols of Peru, the alpaca and llama, and finally we will make the last stop in Lagunillas, observation of Andean birds, flamingos, Andean geese and seagulls.

Arrival in Puno at 19:00 hours and transfer to your hotels in the center of the city (we have the OPTION TO RETURN to Arequipa the same day).

  • Entrance tickets to the hot springs: S/ 15.00. Optional service.
  • Additional meals: Lunch and dinner not included (options available from S/ 25.00 per person).
  • Personal expenses: Purchases or additional services not specified in the itinerary.

What to bring for the excursion?

  • Cash (soles) to cover expenses not included in the program.
  • Extra money for personal expenses. No ATMs are available in Chivay.
  • Swimsuit for visiting the hot springs.
  • Warm clothing for the afternoon: jacket, scarf, and gloves.
  • Hat, cap, sunglasses, and sunscreen for sun protection.
  • Snacks (chocolate, candies, coca leaves).
  • Bottled water or a hydration drink.
  • Camera with enough spare batteries.
  • Personal medical kit, if needed.
  • Altitude sickness pills (“Soroche Pills”) or coca leaves for chewing.
  • Trekking shoes or waterproof boots for better comfort. If using sneakers, make sure they have a rubber sole or thick grip.
  • Rain gear: A good raincoat and rain pants (only during the rainy season, January to March).
  • Respect nature: Do not leave trash in the places you visit. Bring a bag to collect your waste and help keep the environment clean.
